The «Biennales Internationales du Spectacle» or BIS, THE meeting dedicated to the live performance industry, will be held on 17 and 18 January 2018 at La Cité Nantes Events Center.
Originally created by La Scène magazine, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, the BIS has become “the” gathering dedicated to the world of live performance and culture. It is recognised as the must-attend event, unequaled internationally.
Theater, dance, music, street performance, circus arts… every two years, the industry meets in Nantes to collectively promote the live performing arts, debate and exchange, and examine noteworthy practices and experiences in the artistic and cultural sector.
This year, the BIS will once more feature numerous debates and workshops, in addition to the exhibitors who continue to value this event. Together, we will explore new horizons on the state of a sector which is now, more than ever, facing major challenges: changes in cultural budgets, public policy and local laws; new legislation regarding intellectual property (la loi Création); irregular performance schedules… and the next presidential election on the horizon.
